经中华人民共和国教育部批准，中央美术学院于11月2日至3日举办国际美术教育大会。大会以“新时代的美术教育”为主题，聚焦全球美术教育领域里前沿问题，交流中外美术教育所取得的创新成果，探讨世界发展变化格局中美术教育的使命任务，构建全球美术教育的合作平台，促进新时代美术教育的改革发展。
作为本次国际美术教育大会的重要组成部分，艺术管理论坛邀请了10个国家和地区的34个机构，共45位正式参会嘉宾，围绕论坛主题“艺术机构的教育本质”以主旨演讲和圆桌论坛相结合的形式，进行深入的探讨。本次国际美术教育大会秘书长、艺术管理论坛中方主席、学术召集人，中央美术学院艺术管理与教育学院院长、博士生导师余丁教授介绍说，近年来，艺术管理在中国已经成为热门专业和热点学科，已经形成了与国际接轨的良好局面，并正在着眼于不断深化促进国际间的对话、交流与合作。艺术管理始终与美育有着密切的内在联系——几乎所有的艺术机构都有教育的功能，甚至把美育作为其终极目标。本次艺术管理论坛将议题定为“艺术机构的教育本质”（The Education Mission of Art Institutions），正是基于这样一种认识。
论坛分为两大板块。第一个板块“观念与认识”，聚焦教育作为艺术机构本质的理论问题，特别关注艺术品市场等赢利性艺术机构是否也具有教育的本质，以及如何实现教育功能等问题；第二个板块“领域与方法”则重点讨论不同类型的艺术机构如何运用有效的方法，实现其教育职能与目标的。
参与嘉宾的邀请是本次艺术管理论坛的亮点，包括三个方面：
第一，论坛邀请了国际著名的艺术管理教授和学者，包括：本次论坛国际主席、美国哥伦比亚大学荣休教授、原艺术管理系主任简·杰弗里（Joan Jeffri），她也是美国艺术管理教育学会(AAAE)的前任主席，德国柏林自由大学荣誉教授、原柏林自由大学文化与媒体管理学院院长克劳斯·西本哈尔（Klaus Siebenhaar），英国皇家艺术学院艺术人文学院院长胡安·克鲁斯（Juan Cruz），意大利博洛尼亚大学“文化艺术的创新和组织”研究生项目主任、教授卢卡·赞（Luca Zan），国际艺术市场研究学院主席、荷兰阿姆斯特丹大学教授奥拉夫·维苏斯（Olav Velthuis）等。
第二，论坛邀请了国际和国内多个重要艺术机构的专家，包括：奥地利新丝路协会副主席昆特·皮特尔(Guenter Pytel)， 国家艺术基金管理中心主任雷喜宁、副主任秦文，北京西班牙文化中心-塞万提斯学院院长易玛·孔萨雷斯·布依（Inmaculada González Puy）,纽约现代艺术博物馆诠释、研究和数字学习部主任莎娜·伯丁逊（Sara Bodinson），以及伦敦大英博物馆、伦敦苏富比学院、纽约美中文化协会、中国嘉德、北京保利等重要艺术机构的领导人。
第三，本次论坛也是中国艺术管理教育学界的大聚会，来自中国艺术管理教育学会常务理事单位的领导和学科带头人悉数到场，包括：北京大学艺术学院、中央音乐学院、中央戏剧学院、中国美术学院、中国音乐学院、中国戏曲学院、北京电影学院、北京舞蹈学院、上海音乐学院、上海戏剧学院、天津音乐学院、沈阳音乐学院、星海音乐学院、广州美术学院、山东艺术学院、吉林艺术学院等，可谓是中国艺术管理教育学界的盛会。
中国正在迎来一个美育发展的新时代，艺术机构在推动美育发展方面具有不可替代的重要作用，本次论坛的嘉宾来自不同国家、地区，具有不同文化背景和不同的艺术专业背景，凸显中央美术学院艺术管理在专业办学和学科研究方面突破边界、合作共赢的理念。为推动全球艺术管理教育合作发展，本次论坛还将成为国际对话与合作的重要平台，论坛期间，现场的会议代表将同时与美国艺术管理教育协会（AAAE）和欧洲文化管理与政策联盟（ENCATC）领导人进行实时全球连线，共同探讨未来全球艺术管理教育的机遇和挑战，并商讨举办的“全球艺术管理教育大会”的筹备工作。
本次艺术管理论坛将于2018年11月2日至3日在中央美术学院校史馆西厅举行，报名听会通道面向在校学生、相关领域从业人员和社会公众开放。
